So 5 days ago, I thought using BTC to buy electronics in the US and getting them shipped to me in Australia seemed like a easy / great cost effective idea! I was going to avoid bank conversion fee's, international charges and faster processing! The actual ordering on TigerDirect's site was easy and fast. So the order was processed, my BTC transferred well within the 15min window bitpay give you, and I received an order confirmation as well as an invoice from bitpay. The next day I go to track the order, but come across an error stating "An invalid Zip Code or order number was entered". All the details were correct. I used the live help chat to try find out what the problem is, and am told that the order was automatically "web cancelled". TD can not provide any insight in to why the order was cancelled. So now I have the problem of TD having my money, but not processing the order. I do the usual help process of providing wallet id / transaction id / bitpay invoice, and then they say they will escalate it to the next level up and will return in 24 - 48 hrs. It has been about 120 hrs so far. I have been through the process 3 more times just to keep checking if there is any progress, but come back to the same result of waiting 24 / 48 hrs. The last CS rep has said that they will raise this again with higher management and email me a refund (gift card) "soon", so I can re-order online. I just do not see why they can not reprocess the order themselves, as they know they have already received payment, and all these hassles will be done and dusted. This has been a pain in the ass, and I am still not even sure if my next order will be processed because they can not determine why the first one was "web cancelled". So I was wondering, has anyone else had problems with these international orders at TigerDirect? Does anyone know how long it actually takes their higher management to process a gift card to an email?? After this whole experience with the poor CS, I would definitely not recommend the use of TD. Hopefully my gift card arrives "soon" and the next order goes through, but very doubtful..
Placed an order on Jan 27. No update until last Wed. when I get a call from them asking for the license number that I was upgrading. They apparently decided that since the software that I ordered was unavailable, that they would substitute without asking. (Replacing a NEW license with an upgrade) Their software does not track that a substitution has been made and it is my problem to go back to bitpay so that they can figure out how to credit me for the new license that originally ordered. My suggestion right now is stay away from TigerDirect until they get their act together.

Since TigerDirect started accepting BitCoin, that's kind of a deal maker to me. NewEgg and Amazon, you are losing my business to TD.
I have a pretty regular need for decent hardware and components, and I usually shop NewEgg, Monoprice, and Amazon. However, since TigerDirect started accepting Bitcoin, there is really nothing compelling at other hardware mail order retailers for me. I've switched 100% over. Upvote if you agree? I don't expect this gap to last long, to be honest. Once TigerDirect and Overstock started accepting, I kind of feel like 2014 is the year of more mainstream Bitcoin. Watch out, Paypal....

Why as an European (I'm French, in fact), I can't spend my Bitcoins on major websites, Overstock, nor Gyft, nor TigerDirect, nor eGifter, nor Bitcoinshop.us ...?
I think these companies are losing sales of several millions dollars by refusing international orders ... The success of Bitcoin in the world would be much greater if these companies understood that Bitcoin is international by nature. It's not the interest of Bitcoin to stay U.S. centered (as it is now). International market is huge, even compared with U.S. market...
